DANES GETTING FED UP WITH TURBINES
Public anger is real enough, too. Until recently, there was relatively little opposition to the windmills. But now a threshold appears to have been crossed. Earlier this year, a new national anti-wind body, Neighbours of Large Wind Turbines, was created. More than 40 civic groups have become members.
"People are fed up with having their property devalued and sleep ruined by noise from large wind turbines," says the association's president, Boye Jensen Odsherred. "We receive constant calls from civic groups that want to join."

“Since receiving all required approvals for this project, Bald Eagles (listed as special concern in Ontario) have built a nest within the project location in a tree that was scheduled to be removed for the construction of a road, and within 20 metres of the blade sweep of a proposed turbine.
The nest was brought to the attention of MNR in summer 2012 and confirmed in the fall when leaves fell from the tree. Confirmation of an active nest was given by Bird Studies Canada..

THE WOBBLES
With about 2,000 megawatts of wind and solar power now flowing onto Ontario’s electricity grid, the province sometimes has to dump surplus electricity at a loss.
With 10,700 megawatts of renewables scheduled to come into service by 2018, can Ontario’s system handle the strain?

Ms. Krogh was the first investigator in Canada to help carry out a self-reporting survey of people reporting adverse health impacts as a result of the construction and operation of industrial wind installations near their homes in Ontario. Krogh is a peer reviewed author of several articles on this topic including, Industrial Wind Turbine Development and Loss of Social Justice.

ONTARIO LIBERALS WAR AGAINST AGAINST AFFORDABLE ENERGY
Gesner Wind Farm near Muirkirk in Chatham-Kent Ontario
On January 19, 2012, the Ontario Ministry of Environment issued a Renewable Energy Approval (REA) for the Gesner Wind Farm LP (Saturn Power Inc.). The Gesner Project consists of five 2 MW industrial wind turbine generators to be located near Muirkirk and Duart in the Municipality of Chatham-Kent. In response, on February 6, 2012, Chatham-Kent Wind Action Inc. filed an appeal of the REA for the Gesner Wind Project with the Environmental Review Tribunal.
This appeal follows in the footsteps of similar appeals filed for every industrial wind project to receive approval under the Green Energy Act, namely, the Kent Breeze, Zephyr, and Mapleton (Conestogo) Wind projects.
The legal counsel for CKWAG Inc. is the Eric K. Gillespie Professional Corporation. Details of the Appeal will be released when available.
Monica Elmes, spokesperson for CKWAG Inc. says, “this appeal isn’t just about protecting innocent people’s health and the environment in the vicinity of the Gesner project – it is also about defending against an injustice forced upon rural Ontario, and a senseless waste of Ontario taxpayers’ money.”

Surviving the Tsunami
Humans feel infrasound. But we don't necessarily know that that's what we're feeling. Some people experience sensations of being spooked or even feeling religious in the presence of infrasound. We also experience Rayleigh waves via special sensors in our joints (called pacinian corpuscles), which exist just for that purpose.

MCGUINTY’S GREEN-ENERGY POLICIES COST LIBERALS SEATS IN RURAL ONTARIO
A clear rejection of the Green Energy Act by rural Ontario
Ms. Van Bommel lost on Thursday evening, one of seven Liberal incumbents who went down to defeat in rural ridings where green energy and wind turbines were major issues. And they were not all backbenchers. Among the casualties was the agriculture minister (Carol Mitchell), the education minister (Leona Dombrowsky) and, most symbolically, the environment minister (John Wilkinson). The Progressive Conservatives won all seven of those seats.

Ont. wind farm health risks downplayed: documents
Ministry of Environment forced to release documents that show their officials mislead the public about health complaints. Ontario's Freedom of Information Act liberates more than 1,000 pages of internal MOE correspondence detailing MOE that Ontario’s noise pollution models are filled with errors, that MOE lacked a proper methodology for monitoring (and thus enforcing) noise levels from turbines. MOE field officers and the acoustics specialists they hired repeatedly warned the province in 2009 and 2010 that there needed to be stricter noise pollution limits in rural areas

Government Memorandum on Wind Turbines obtained through the Freedom of Information Act
John Laforet, President of Wind Concerns Ontario states, "For almost four years residents in rural Ontario have played by the book. If this is how the government process works, by burying evidence, then the system is either broken or corrupt." WCO

Ontario regulations requiring a minimum setback of 550 metres for wind turbines from residences and a maximum night time noise level of 40 decibels "is reasonable and sufficient to protect against adverse health effects."
Says sound heard indoors should be taken seriously
Infrasound is sound below human audibility. Guess this is why an inquiry to get to the bottom of that all that noise you can't hear is called a hearing. It is known that things unseen can kill but the gov says that what is inaudible is harmless and doesn't cause heath problems so why worry?
All the judges did was decide "it was not up to them to determine the wisdom of (Energy Minister Brad Duguid) which is a far cry from determining the minister’s actions to be wise," John Laforet said.
